NADA 5-Point Protocol Ear Acupuncture
Small Group Wellbeing Sessions
Take an hour for yourself
Step away from the demands of daily life and experience the calming benefits of the NADA 5-Point Protocol in a peaceful, supportive small-group setting.
No talking is required, and there is no expectation to share personal information or take part in discussion. This gentle practice offers you the opportunity to slow down, relax and enjoy dedicated time for your own wellbeing.
What is NADA Ear Acupuncture?
NADA (National Acupuncture Detoxification Association) is a gentle, non-verbal ear acupuncture protocol that uses five specific points on each ear.
Traditionally offered in a group setting, NADA allows participants to experience a quiet and calming environment while focusing on relaxation and self-care. Many people appreciate the simplicity and stillness of the practice, as well as the opportunity to pause and reconnect with themselves.
At Cwtch Counselling, our NADA sessions are designed to provide a welcoming, safe and supportive space for members of the wider community.
Groups are intentionally kept small, with a maximum of five participants, allowing for a calm atmosphere and individual care.
What Happens During a Session?
Before your first session, you will be asked to complete a consent and health information form. This helps ensure NADA is suitable for you and gives you the opportunity to ask any questions before attending.
During your session:
-
You will be welcomed into the space and given time to settle.
-
Five small, sterile needles will be gently placed into specific points on each ear.
-
You will relax quietly while the protocol takes place.
-
The acupuncture points remain in place for approximately 40 minutes.
-
The needles are safely removed before you leave.
-
You will have time afterwards to ask questions or take a moment to ground yourself before leaving.
The total session time is approximately 60 minutes, allowing time to arrive, settle, receive the treatment and transition gently back into your day.
No previous experience with acupuncture is needed. Many people value the quiet, simple and non-verbal nature of this wellbeing practice.
How Can NADA Support Wellbeing?
NADA is offered as a complementary wellbeing practice and may support people who are looking for:
-
A calming and restorative experience.
-
Time for relaxation and self-care.
-
Gentle support during periods of stress, change or emotional challenge.
-
A quiet practice to complement existing wellbeing routines.
Please note that NADA does not replace medical advice, counselling or other healthcare support.
Why a Small Group?
NADA has traditionally been delivered in a group environment. Many people find the shared quiet of a group setting comforting, while still having their own private and personal experience.
With only five participants per session, each group remains relaxed, welcoming and supportive, ensuring everyone has space to settle and receive individual attention.
Before Your First Session
For your safety and wellbeing, all new participants are required to complete a consent and health information form before attending.
Please get in touch before booking if you:
-
Are pregnant.
-
Take blood-thinning medication.
-
Have a medical condition that may affect your suitability for acupuncture.
-
Have any concerns about acupuncture or needles.
All needles used are sterile, single-use and safely disposed of after each session.
