My name is Gillian and I am a qualified Counsellor. I came to Counselling after a varied and experienced background during which I have spent time in the NHS, Finance, Retail and Travel. However it was my empathetic nature which drew me to counselling and has enabled me to mix my theoretical knowledge with a deep understanding of the personal challenges you may be facing.
I feel very passionately that emotional well-being is the foundation for success in every aspect of our lives and that positive mental health can help us deal with the challenges that an ever changing modern life brings.
I am committed to my clients and as a person centred counsellor following a “humanistic and existential approach”, I approach each client as an individual with their own unique story. My aim is to accompany you in exploring your world and how you experience it – in fact I consider myself a fellow traveller and your supportive companion.
Exploring your situation through counselling can be challenging and painful but also powerful and life-enhancing. Sharing in a safe place can aid self-healing and can also lead to the changes you desire to make in your life – it often brings a fresh perspective and a sense of truly being heard.
I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and for you this means I ensure a strict ethical framework is present in all we do together.
I look forward to speaking with you, meeting you, travelling with you on your journey and ultimately watching you reach your full potential in whatever form that takes.
